Itinerary
Cusco, ancient capital of the Inca Empire, one of the most transcendental destinations of the country, invites us to discover, one of the wonderful Inca architectural constructions , the Qoricancha temple, the Inca Roca Palace, with colonial constructions, such as the Cathedral of Cusco , the church of the Company of Jesus, considered a true jewel of the time, its picturesque neighborhood of San Blas with cobbled streets, where the workshops of the best craftsmen are located, where they will surprise and inspire you for their art , you will be surprised by the extraordinary beauty of Cusco, ancient capital of the Inca empire.
Day 1
Cusco / C ity Tour
Reception at the airport and transfer to hotel. In the afternoon we will begin our tour of the city where we will visit the main archaeological and religious attractions such as the Cathedral, the colonial religious monument of extraordinary artistic value and the Palace of Q oricancha or Sun Temple and Convent of Santo Domingo, which highlights the impressive engineering used in its construction. also, we will visit the 4 archaeological centersadjoining the City , like Sacsayhuamán, located 3 km from the city, an impressive fortress of colossal stones and an excellent architecture. It is famous for its formidable carved stones, some of which are 9/30 feet high and weigh more than 350 tons. This is where the “Inti Raymi” or “Fiesta del Sol”, Qenqo, Ceremonial and ritual center, amphitheater where sacrifices were performed in honor of the Sun, Moon and Stars, is performed annually in the month of June. Puca-Pucara, old tambo or guard post along the roads of the Inca and Tambomachay, 7 km from the city of Cusco, ceremonial center of water worship, traditionally known as the place of water.
Day 2
Cusco / Sacred Valley of the Incas
Our tour to the “Sacred Valley of the Incas”, begins, on the Vilcanota River, a panoramic view of the Inca citadel of Pisac then make the visit to the archaeological complex of Pisac, a brief stop and visit to the typical market of Pisac, where we will have the opportunity to know closely the customs of its inhabitants, later we will move to the town of Urubamba place where we can enjoy a buffet lunch with different typical Peruvian dishes, traveling along the Vilcanota River, visit the archaeological complex of Ollantaytambo, whose name is in honor of General Inca Ollanta, famous for his romance with an Inca princess, daughter of Pachacútec. It is the only city of the Inca in Peru that is still inhabited, Finally we will visit the town of Chinchero, an important archaeological site “royal treasury of the Inca Túpac Yupanqui”, and a beautiful temple of the colonial period, of beauty and unique history, likewise We will visit the interpretive market of Chincheros, a show of color and movement, which fascinates the visitor due to its diversity in handmade crafts and textiles.
Day 3
Cusco / The mountain of 7 colors
We will leave approximately 0 4 : 00 am, where we will pick you up from your hotel in the city, and then make the trip in our mobility, where we headed south (U rcos) paved road to P itumarca (2:00 pm), following the routewill pass through many high Andean communities to reach hanchipata-Quesuno approximate 1 hour and a half, the place where our camp where we will enjoy our breakfast, ideal to start the walk, the professional guide, will provide us, the preventive information for our tour. During the trip we will have the opportunity to see a variety of South American camelids, birds, lagoons, plateaus, streams and the impressive snow of the Ausangate. the walk lasts approximately 3 hours to V inicunca (mountain 7 colors or rainbow) , our guide will provide us with a brief explanation and additional time for your photographic scenes of memory with the magical landscape. The return will be a descent about 2 and a half hours to Quesunoy , starting point of the tour, then we will have our buffet lunch and then return to the city of Cusco arriving at approximately 7:00 at night.
Day 4
Cusco / Machu Picchu
Our excursion to the archaeological complex of Machu Picchu located in the sub-tropical zone of Cusco or jungle brow at an altitude of 2,350 meters above sea level starts very early (08:00 hours approx.) Transfer from theHotel to the train station Ollantaytambo , then take a trip to the Train of Peru Rail , until you reach the town of Aguas Calientes. Abord we are the bus of ascent to the archaeological zone of Machu Picchu, the passage lasts 20 min. approx. Offering an impressive view of the landscape of the Urubamba River, as well as imposing mountains that surround Machu Picchu; Upon arriving at the beautiful Inca citadel, we will travel with our guide to itsdifferent sectors of plazas, temples, platforms, ceremonial precincts and its royal palace. We will also appreciate the famous Intihuatana or solar clock and an unparalleled succession of natural water springs carved in rock. At the end you will be provided with free time for a more extended excursion through the citadel. To then return to the town of Aguas Calientes, where we will have a short break, the return will follow the same journey as the outward journey, upon arrival at the train station, we will be waiting to take you to your hotel. (show up at the station 30 minutes before the departure time of your train).
Day 5
Cusco / Lima
Transfer from the hotel to the airport to board the return flight to Lima.
